10、Chapter 9: Life Perspectives ...

  • "The job market has changed. Before age 35, it's best to focus on your specialty, and after 35, transition to management positions. This is a life plan that suits an ordinary person. If you possess exceptional talents beyond the norm, you'll have more choices, but switching fields might deplete your abilities. By the way, did you study a major related to finance in university?"

"I don't want to compete. My main goal is to pursue things I truly believe in. My undergraduate major was finance. However, I want to specialize in Traditional Chinese Medicine, practice divination, fortune-telling, Feng Shui, and office Feng Shui adjustments. I don't want to work in finance anymore because those things only help capital tycoons exploit the masses. It feels like aiding and abetting. I used to be skeptical about these things, but my parents told me I'm suited to be a teacher, an accountant, or a doctor in this life."

"These career options are good, and I actually think your family's recommendations are excellent. These are traditional industries, so you haven't been close to the latest advancements. Technology is evolving rapidly. Fortunately, I'm not too focused on outcomes. I value the process. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to persist in my career. Technology is constantly replacing jobs."

"Technology? You don't have to worry about machines replacing your job. Many technologies from Mozi's time, over two thousand years ago, are still beyond modern human replication! Let's not talk about technology. The current technology has only developed for a few hundred years, and machines can't replace everything."

"It's not that they can't replicate, but whether they suit the capitalist market. If there's demand and profit potential, people will naturally flock to it."

"Well, if it's all about making money and profits, you can't call it pure technology! All technologies are about making simple things complex, doing repetitive tasks. The goal is to confuse and take advantage of the masses, creating information asymmetry and making money."

"Well, it's not entirely true. Technology has indeed made my work much easier."

"Only Musk's technology can be considered real technology!"

"Making money and technology are not contradictory. Without profits supporting technology, how far can it go?"

"Yes, you must feel that way because you've been indoctrinated with so-called modern scientific knowledge."
