18、V.不必要的重复引用

　　接下来我们要研究的是中式英语中另外一类不必要词语。这些词语通常出现在给定的句子或短文中，有两处或以上对同一件事情的引用。
　　有时候在第一次提到一件事之后，紧接着的引用是可以直接整个删除的；但是在更多情况下，它们需要在做一番删节后留下。我们会检验这两种类型的句子。

　　可以直接删去的重复引用
　　在一些句子中，同样的意思会提到两次以上，这是没有逻辑必要的。在线面的例子中，这些重复并不能对文章的意义起到任何作用。因此，它们就是另一种形式的冗余，这些多余的词语只需要简单地删除。
　　A：Statistics show that from 1990 to 1994, imported vehicles totalled 960,000 units, compared with the four million vehicles produced in the country数据显示，国内从1990年到1994年一共进口960000辆汽车，相较自产了四百万辆汽车。（规定吧，数字翻译是这样的，英文中如果是阿拉伯数字，那么中文也用阿拉伯。如果英文用的是one，two...中文就要用一、二...）
　　B：Statistics show that from 1990 to 1994 960, 000 vehicles were imported, while four million were produced domestically数据显示，国内从1990年到1994年共进口960000辆汽车，自产了四百万。
　　[ Vehicles车辆=units单位，份，辆...，这句话修改之后可以只出现一个vehicles]
　　A：A minimum of 50, 000 kilometers of road test is required for the prototype of a regular truck, as mandated by the central government, before it can be approved for quantity production.根据政府要求，新车型的卡车至少需要经过50000公里的公路测试才能获准批量生产。
　　B：The prototype of a regular truck is required to go through 50,000 kilometers of road test before the central government will approve it for mass production标准卡车的新车型要经过50000公里的公路测试后才能获得政府同意批量生产。

　　同时A minimum至少也可以删除因为它也隐含在required的意思中]
　　A：Now let me discuss how we can overcome our financial and economic difficulties this autumn and how we should strive for a turn for the better regarding our financial and economic situation next year现在让我来谈谈我们今秋该如何客服金融经济上的困难，还有怎样让明年的金融经济形势朝着更好的方向发展
　　B：Now let me discuss how we can overcome our financial and economic difficulties this autumn and how we can improve the situation next year现在让我谈谈我们今秋该怎样克服金融经济上的困难，又如何改善明年的形势。
　　[在这句话中situation形势的意思已经非常明确，不需要financial and economic经济金融的来重复表达。
　　strive for a turn for the better regarding朝着更好的方向发展只是对improve提升，改善的冗长的表达]

　　需要留下的重复引用
　　然而，重复不是永远都是多余的。事实上，在正常连续的论述中，有些特定类型的重复是不可或缺的。
　　来看看下面段落中的划线部分吧。
　　The National Conference on Iron and Steel Production was held in Beijing from this date to that, by such-and-such a ministry under the auspices of so-and-so. The National Conference Iron and Steel Production drew up a national plan for this laid down the principle of doing that. The National Conference on Iron and Steel Production also discussed the problem of such and-such. The National Conference on Iron and Steel Production decided to take the following measures, All in all, the National Conference on Iron and Steel Production was a great success这次全国钢铁生产会议是在某地召开的，从某天到某天，由某某政府在某某领导下召开。全国钢铁生产大会为此制定了一项全国性的计划，确立了这样做的准则。全国钢铁生产会议也讨论了诸如此类的问题。全国钢铁生产大会决定采取以下措施，总之，全国钢铁生产大会取得了巨大成功。（这里的划线部分就是全国钢铁生产大会）
　　显然，如果我们不禁止一连串地对同一件事清的重复引用，那么整篇文章都会像上面这段文字一样没有任何逻辑进展。如果每一个句子的主语都不一样，那么就会写出不连贯的废话。
　　然而，这也不意味着每一次都需要重复同样的词句。就好像上面给出的段落一样，不断重复的标题是对词语的严重浪费，（而且母语者听起来会觉得非常烦躁）。因为在中文中，这样的重复在某种程度上来说是可以接受的，也导致了译稿中出现了远超英语能够忍受的过多的重复。
