"I object to the detonation order for the Point C device, Controller." 你站了起来, "We will lose all complete operational data and runtime logs collected from that position. Permanently."
马可斯作为基地方通讯负责人也参与到本次行动的最后收尾工作,他从一旁站起来,似笑非笑, "Captain YN, the self-destruct protocol is part of the reliability test itself. It's written into the operational test outline..." 你努力保持平静, "Precisely because I haven't seen this so-called 'outline,' I must emphasize: this data can verify the device's failure modes and recovery mechanisms under extreme interference. Its strategic value far exceeds a one-time tactical application.
"Captain YN," (YN上尉,) 主控指挥员打断了你, "Point C's location is sensitive. Dagger Team requires remote comms support for exfil. The detonation order has been assessed and approved."
"Controller." (指挥员,) 你向前半步,目光扫过在场每一位决策者, "Per the support agreement, the SMR-01 is for bilateral technical verification and accumulation of combat data, not for one-time expenditure. If critical data is routinely destroyed simply to assist an exfil, where is the foundational trust for our technical cooperation?" 你知道自己正在触碰边界,但有些话必须说, "Intelligence transparency and joint assessment are basic principles of any combined international operation. If I, as the systems lead, continue to operate without being briefed on the complete test parameters, it could easily be seen as a unilateral change in verification conditions. That risks trust in all future technical collaboration."
Everything you say is correct. But the base's primary objective is to ensure mission success. Data collection to help refine your technology… is a secondary goal." You must respect the on-scene commander's authority. Do not interfere with operational command."
"I understand and respect command authority. But the technical clauses and data ownership rights are also clearly stipulated in the agreement." 你目光灼灼的盯着他的眼睛,意有所指道, "…Respect shown beforehand saves us all a lot of trouble, Commander." (……
"A lack of transparency in validation procedures like this…" 你接着说,你视线瞥向马可斯又快速折回, "...is a pointless drain on trust in international cooperation." (……
Your proposal will be formally noted and considered." 他叹了一口气, "For now, however, return to your station and resume your technical monitoring duties."
Pity the battlefield doesn't read dissertations. The command room only recognizes results and risk assessment forms."
"Mr. Marcus."
他斜视着你,语气有些嘲讽, "Passion for your tech is good, kid. But you need to learn to read the room, understand the higher-ups' intent. What did all that pushing back achieve, besides making things awkward for yourself?"
你猛地停住脚步,盯着他, "Ensuring awareness of the equipment's technical status and the operational consequences is my duty."
"Well said, Captain YN," (说得好啊,YN上尉。) 马可斯拍了拍手, "Technical officers should focus on technical support. Leave tactical risk and command judgment to those who actually know the business. If you had grasped that sooner..." 他顿了顿,看着你的左手绷带,意有所指的笑道, "...been a little less insistent, hadn't laid down that redundant point... maybe your O7 wouldn't have nearly been encircled. Knowing your place... it's better for everyone. Wouldn't you agree, Captain YN?" (……
"Well said yourself, Marcus." Price的烟嗓低沉嘶哑,带着穿越硝烟沉淀下的威严, "Technical departments should focus on technical support. Leave tactical command and judgment to those who actually know the business..."
Since when does your base tech department have the authority to question the on-scene command decisions of my frontline operators?"
"If your department has concerns about operational details, you can file a report through the proper channels. Not level baseless accusations at my operator in a hallway."
马可斯的脸一阵红一阵白, "...It was just a technical discussion. ...I won't disturb you further." (…… (Price,Ghost。 "...Thanks. What a coincidence. Always causing you trouble." (……
Price摇了摇头, "No thanks needed. I was just stating facts."
Ghost站在一旁,闻言,闷地接了一句, "And…not a coincidence. We were looking for you."
Price点头,示意你跟上他们,三人沿着走廊向另一个方向走去, "There's a final details confirmation meeting regarding the insurance claim for the equipment destroyed during the last op. As the direct user and the one who made the call to scrap it, your presence is required."
It's just procedure. The base has already aligned on the narrative. This claim works in everyone's favor. And..." "...this time, we've got plenty of help on our side." (……
"See," (看,) Price在你身边冷峭道, "Whether your 'mistake' is a 'credit' depends entirely on who benefits."
"Heh. Yeah. Today's critic, tomorrow's ally, maybe even singing my praises," (呵,是啊。
"No matter what they say... we only recognize the facts on the ground. The rest..."
"That's why I prefer trusting the weapon in my hand and the team at my side," (这就是为什么我宁愿只相信手里的枪和身边的队友。)
"Alright, that's it wrapped up. The base gets their insurance prospects, our op gets confirmed as justified. On this one, at least, it's settled." Price笑了笑,目光扫过你掩不住倦意的脸,拍了拍你, "Get some proper rest, YN. You look like you need it more than anyone right now."
Mostly healed. I'll avoid heavy loading or gripping with it," (没问题,恢复得差不多。
"...Price's approval for leave is rare, YN. Sure you don't want more of it?"
"Gotta be ready in case the comms go down. Might have to do the talking with these," (万一哪天通讯器不好使,还是得靠拳头讲话。)
Whoever's on the receiving end will know their comms are busted."
"Everyone's here?" Price最后进来,看到你也在场,眉头挑了一下,不过没多说什么,拍了拍手, "Focus today is ground grappling and rapid neutralization in confined spaces... Don't let me catch anyone slacking off."
"Until one submits, or is rendered unable to counter effectively." Price在一旁重申,目光扫过两人, "No strikes to vital areas. Focus on control and restraint. Mind the intensity. This is training."
"Don't blame me for stealing your beauty sleep, Soap," (Soap,
"We'll see who needs it more," (是吗,看看谁更需要睡眠。)
You're guarding my sleep next week."
你皱着眉头看向正自己撑着坐起来的Soap,不悦道, "What was that, Soap?"
Soap揉着脖子,笑道, "That was a fast, clean finish, Captain. Fair and square."
"...Where was your ground defense? Are those muscles just for show?" (…… Or is it that beating a wounded female tech isn't any fun for you?"
"...That's not it, don't say that," (……
"Then what should I say?" 你逼视着他, "'Thanks for the consideration, but I need an opponent, not a babysitter'?" "Hey…don't look at me like that, YN," (嘿…… Hear me out. Me losing is all upside—your tech-shift night watch doesn't fall on me. Different system access, right?"
"A strategic retreat for a tactical victory," (战略撤退,赢得战术胜利。)
"Screw your tactical victory!" 你推了他一把,看似佯装的怒意里确实饱含真实的火气, "I spar with you to face an opponent! Pull this crap on the mats with me again, and I'll guarantee you a permanent comms blackout."
Next time, I'll take it seriously. Promise you'll have to be carried off the mat..."
