　　在威廉摩尔知道了所有事情细节后，仍旧没能完全放下戒备。他打量高明赫许久：“So you were sent here by Richard?”

　　高明赫点头：“Yeah,but I come here for saving this Angelato.I think we share the same goal.”

　　威廉摩尔皱眉笑：“So you just want to test your serum?”

　　“Just that.”高明赫目光笃定，“We\'ll go back once the mission\'s done. Whether we leave or not is up to you.”他顿了顿，看向威廉，“Of course I hope you could let us go.”

　　威廉思忖许久：“Where is the serum?”

　　“Right in the lab. If you allow, all members of the laboratory, including Matthew Young, will conduct rigorous tests on this sample. Once successful, all patients will be cured.”高明赫将他带向一个保险柜，取出里面的蓝宝石项链，正是麦蓝那条“海蓝之上”，“Let me show you.”
　　威廉端详许久那宝石里封存的深蓝色液体，就在高明赫和麦蓝都以为他会默许的时刻，威廉突然松开了手。

　　高明赫下意识伸手去接，但那块宝石，连同里面的血清样本就这么毫无预兆地摔在地上。碎片琳琅满地，而珍贵的蓝色液体也朝四面八方溢开。高明赫瞪大眼睛，他没有料到会是这样的结果，即使惊慌失措地伸手去抓地上的液体，也完全是徒劳。

　　“I deeply apologize.I think this serum is no longer useful, according to the current mutation speed of the virus.”

　　“You can\'t just ruin it like this…”

　　威廉拿出手帕，擦拭飞溅到胸前的液体，慢条斯理道，“I\'m sorry, young man,I think you have been mistaken about one thing.”随后他将已经呆滞的高明赫从地上扶起，“Even if what you say is true, do you think it is appropriate at this moment to tell all citizens that the real enemy is not others, but themselves?From another universe? Another Angelato without any wars and viruses? Come on,you know it sounds like joke.”

　　麦蓝如梦初醒，忽然像疯了一般大喊：

　　“No no no!You’re wrong,sir.It’s not a joke!Definitely not!”

　　威廉皱眉笑，“What do you wanna say,young girl?”

　　“In fact, many people already know about this,and totally believe in it.”麦蓝盯着威廉的眼睛，极其认真地说，“To be honest I made half a million anc in the past two weeks.”说着便举起手机屏幕上显示的银行存款余额，足有50多万安克，她一字一句威胁道，“If you do nothing, the money of the citizens of this country will be stolen by me.”

　　高明赫完全不知道那些邮件的事情，满脸茫然。只剩下麦蓝一人与总统周旋：“This is my bank account balance. You can just check my payment record history,which made from citizens in Wansacity.”

　　威廉打量着她，紧皱眉头：“How?”

　　“Just reply to their emails.”麦蓝收回手机，没有正面回答而是继续试探，“At such a difficult time for this country, there are still many wealthy people willing to pay a lot. It would be really nice if all this money was used to fund the military, right?”

　　威廉沉默不语。

　　麦蓝继续说：“Some citizens in Wansacity created an online community in my name. My name is Millie·Mai.”她顿了顿，从手机社交软件里找到这个以她名字命名的网络社区，“There are already many people who believe in parallel universes, and even spend a lot of money to buy some information from me, just to know more about their beautiful life in another world.”

　　自从她开始给人们回复邮件以来，麦蓝就成为万萨斯的名人，引发小规模的热议，直到她按照斯嘉丽的建议，开始设置收费标准并要求严禁传播，这才没有进一步扩大舆论。这些不惜花200安克一封邮件的价格也要获得精神补给的人们，一旦知道麦蓝被政府监禁，或执行死刑，后果可想而知。

　　麦蓝开始适度攻击威廉的痛处。如今的安吉利特国家政府，确实已经失去极大一部分的民心。

　　威廉沉默了几分钟后，忽然露出轻松的神色，“Well…but unfortunately I have destroyed your previous serum samples.”他瞥了眼地上四溢的蓝色液体，歪头一笑，“No matter how much you say, we are done.”

　　“No,we’re not.”高明赫忽然从地上站起，“You forgot one thing.”

　　“Forgot what?”

　　“Spring is coming soon.”
