《口语大作业》夷则十六

1、midterm assignment

　　The main character of this novel is Lin Chen, an expert in criminal
　　psychology. This is a criminal investigation novel, so, there are many
　　incidents involving moral choice. But what I want to talk about is a
　　moral choice that shaped Lin Chen\'s whole life. In one kidnapping,
　　the kidnappers kidnapped four excellent young people (group A)
　　and 20 young men who had committed crimes and were kidnapped
　　because of their own greed (group B). The kidnappers asked Lin
　　Chen to make a choice between the two groups. One group would
　　survive, while the other would be killed immediately. Very
　　dramatically, in group A, one of them called Weiwei is his best
　　friend’s sister. The kidnappers let the twenty people lose
　　consciousness, the four people are still awake, so they can persuade
　　Lin Chen to let them live. Four outstanding young men or some
　　people who have committed crimes; his best friend’s sister or
　　strangers; the people begging him and saying I want to live or the
　　people who are unconscious and unable to speak anything at that
　　time. It seems very easy to choose. However, this is just a trap set by
　　the kidnappers for Lin Chen. There was a bomb hidden under the
　　seat of Group A, and as long as they left their seat, the bomb would
　　explode. When Lin Chen hesitated, Weiwei found the bomb and
　　detonated the bomb without hesitation. Group B survived. When the
　　police found them, in order not to let some people judge Weiwei
　　maliciously, Lin Chen chose to hide part of the truth. This made him
　　be misunderstood and hated by Group A’s family. But it also made
　　him braver. In the rest of his life, he will live with Weiwei’s courage.
　　In fact, there are two moral choices in this case. One is the choice
　　Weiwei made. When she found the bomb and knew whether Lin
　　Chen chose them or not, they would die. She chose to detonate the
　　bomb, rather than let Lin Chen make the choice that will let him
　　guilty his whole life. The other is the choice that Lin Chen chose to
　　bear the misunderstanding of others to protect Weiwei

　　上学期我们口语课的主题是道德，其实提到了很多次道德困境，Ed引导我们讨论这个问题，其实在几年前看完犯心之后我就也一直在思考这个问题。目前为止我比较认同的两个答案，一个是邢从连听完这个故事时讲的那句“我不确定在那种情况下我会做出什么选择，但我一定会很敬佩那个做出选择的人”，另一个是之前无意间在知乎上看到过的，“如果一个人那边的铁轨上站的是我，那我会选择让火车转向我这一边，但，如果不是我，那么我没有任何资格更改火车的行驶方向”，没有人有权利大义凛然的替别人选择牺牲
