2、Name

　　Maomao has just finished her entrance test to the local middle school. Although her parents are still quite anxious about the results, Maomao thinks she is up to some fun. Maomao loves reading interesting books that either tell a good story or have some good information.It happens that her elementary teacher suggested a good set,some precyclopedia for children of Great Britan. It contains five books with some pictures(not a colorful type,but better than purely text).It is a fortune, Maomao thinks, meaning both the content and the price. Then Maomao remembers the face of Mom when she was paying.\"I think I will read some of that,\"Maomao has made up her mind.

　　After reading a few pages, Maomao frowns,\"why do the foreign people have such long and meaningless names!\"After a moment\'s thought, Maomao signs,\"If only Lily\'s here.\"

　　And of course her dear cousin Lily is not here to help her out even though she probably is very willing.The fact is, this time,Maomao has to get through the transission without her.\"I guess it is time to grow up,\" Maomao concludes and decides to give the book a second chance.

　　\"The stories are quite differenct but aren\'t bad, I will give them that.But I really wish that I could find an easy way with the names.They are really a headache. I wonder how Lily can cope with that...wait a minute, her name can serve as an English name already!\"Maomao is very pleased with this new finding and starts to really think about it.\"Lily is a name of a certain flower, I am sure I did hear about this somewhere!\"Maomao gets a bit excited, for if you know the meaning of a name it gets easier to remember it.However, this excitement fades fast when Maomao\'s eyes move up to the thick dictionary on the top shelf.

　　Maomao knows that in middle school, she will have to really learn English. That means Maomao will need to have an English name.\"Maybe I will just choose one from this book,\"is the original thought.Then,Maomao gets angry,\"why there is no famous woman until page 40!This is not ture!\"She throws the book away only to collect it back, for it is a fortune in the terms of money. \"OK,now I really doubt whether you have something really valuable to tell,\"Maomao crosses her arms and sits on the floor,not quite recovers from the temper. Then curiosity kicks in,\"who is the first famous woman mentioned in this book\"Maomao tries very hard to resist the temptation, but fails as usual.\"OK,I will read this one.If it is a bad story, I will go ask who want it.\"So decides our little fury.Well, the story pleases Maomao, it is about two famous nurses: Florence Nightingale and Barara Barton.\"Maybe I will use Florence as my English name,\"Maomao talks to herself,\"Barara sounds funny.\"

　　So this story eases Maomao so she tolerate couple of more \"man-story\".\"The three sisters\' story is ok too. I would like to be a writer.\"Maomao nods to herself.

　　Then, there are more \"man-story\". Before Maomao loses her patience, a long name and a strange story appears. Par-ser-phoneMaomao is certain she is wrong about the pronunciation but quite pleased that this name stands out from the text.The story has only one name that Maomao has heard of:Hades.Lily once told Maomao about him in a greek story.Maomao suddenly feels a bit lonely.\"Choosing a name is too hard,\"Maomao shrugs then runs to Grandma.

　　The grammar here is not correct, so to speak. But I think it is more helpful to you to put it this way. Afterall, oral English uses current tenses more.
