Mr. Gibbs walks away unwillingly after being complained, murmuring, taking out a wine bottle and having a big sip of his rum, while I am waiting for him not very far away.
I knew this old man from the movies I watched in my previous life. He is a pirate who is addicted to shiny things and alcohol, but with rarely-seen tie of friendship. Furthermore, he can show a direction and give a hand to my sister Lizzy and Will Turner when they have trouble in future. So I let household maid buy two big barrels of rum and carry them aboard the ship without being noticed.
A bribe to him.
Mr. Gibbs saw me in the back. He quickly put away his bottle and shut his mouth tight, being afraid that I may have heard his comments about Elizabeth. I walked up to him, smiling, holding his arm and lifting up my face, asking: “Sir Why are you leaving in such a hurry”
Mr. Gibbs was a little bit embarrassed, though he tried to behave if nothing had happened: “Nothing, miss. I just want to go down and find some cables to fasten.”
