2、The Discrimination is a Sort of Monster In bo ...

In both ‘Blood Quantum’ and ‘Something to Hitch Meat to’ the monsters are figurative, racial discrimination, which could change lives completely. Together with the literal monster in two parts was shown as a zombie and a spider girl, both of the two characters Trylor and Artho are symbols of the horrified of the monsters. This phenomime is tied to social power because the gap between different classes also causes the information different. But in both works, the family in two works plays a main role in supporting the main character to move on.
Both works discussed the phenomenon that contradictions occur when people with different racial characteristics. Both of the two works have described the bias of racial arising as a result of different racial differences. And two works also have included some descriptions of horror, which highlights that those just as horrible are extremely horrible just as the damaged monster.
Both of the works reveal bias because of ignorance and stereotypes which mainly mention discrimination, and the biases also along with that. The most typical discrimination is racism. It will happen especially when the white is with other colors of people. The Blood Quantum compares racism to the zombie crisis, which afflicts local Indigenous, and the belief of racism speed like a disease among the whites. This phenomenon is displayed throughout the whole work in Blood Quantum. It is a zombie movie and the director uses a different zombie infection process to refer to it. In the whole movie, not all people will transition into zombies. Only the indigenous could survive the zombie bite without changing into zombies. That means the infection process of zombies mainly works for white people. The Director uses an exaggerated vision to show the distinction between different races to highlight racial discrimination makes people separate into different endings. For the whites, might transform into zombies or be murdered before the transition. However, the indigenous, except them could survive by running away from this region, the end for them is eaten by zombies when they still live.
In Something to Hitch Meat, racial discrimination always happens around Artho who is a black man who tries to struggle for life. In the beginning, a woman passes by Artho and says he as a Latino is so hot. Even though he is not Latino, the woman thought he was just because he was hot. This is a kind of racial bias that usually happens. Some people always put a typical tag on a specific race. In addition, when they meet the person with the same tag, and name them racial even if it is wrong. While he was shopping in the store, the money was checked to make sure it was real. In addition, when the assistant gave Artho a change, he was very impatient. Which is a different way when he treated well-dressed people. His different treatment of different people of different races, the color of their skin, or outfits. This shopper's assistant judges Artho in an easy way through his outfit, even though he can not identify what kind of person he is. However, he still treats Artho with bias, which is a rude way. This kind of discrimination happens everywhere. People will judge you’re not only race but also outfit. They will put bias on anyone even if they do not know what the truth is.
The expression of monster is used to symbolize those prejudices and biases are like monsters, devouring a normal person, and sometimes will replace them as a new monster. Those works describe how the monster could change people's lives completely. In Blood Quantum, those zombies’ diseases are the best example; they will transform those white people into zombies, even just a small bite, but those new zombies will swallow the human body from living Indigenous. In the whole movie, the zombie crisis is the most important point, throughout every part of the plot. The basic problem of the zombie crisis is how it spread. The conditions spread in this movie are limited to the fact that anyone other than the indigenous can get infected by zombie diseases. However, unfortunately, indigenous people that even if eaten alive, they still cannot get the disease. Moreover, the indigenous have no choice but to escape from the living place and survive, or the only thing waiting for them is to be bitten to death by white zombies. The director describes the zombie diseases in Quebec in an ironic way because of this racial discrimination and it is very ridiculous. The director tries to use a special spread way to show the racial like a sort of disease happening to white people. Which would not even infect Indigenous people. In this movie, the white people with racism are described as zombies which will hurt indigenous people both physically and emotionally.
In Something to Hitch Meat, the monster shown is a “spider” girl but is played by an angel. The angel said the people consist of a bone and the meat hanging outside with skin. The reason why we have different performances or outlooks is just because the meats with the skin hanging the bones outside are different. But all in all, we are all only made up of skin and bone. That is, no matter what race or color you are, we are all the same kind of human. This article mainly describes the monster, although disguised as an angel. However, it insinuates the fact in this life that racial prejudice is the real monster. Because people are all the same, they all have the same components, maybe they just have different skin colors, races, or dressings. But there is no doubt that on the basics, we are the same. But some people will judge other people with bias on the differences between them.
What's more, these monsters produced by racial discrimination are also related to social power. In Blood Quantum, we can see that two kinds of people are divided into society in Quebec, one is white, and the other is indigenous. And the social power and status of the two kinds of people in this movie are completely different. For zombie disease, which can only infect white people, this causes a result that all the zombies in the city are white. In the article, we can also clearly see the monster of psychological distortion caused by such discrimination, which is also tied to different people in many social powers. For example, Artho, who is not carefully dressed, was judged and the lead suspect happened just because of his different outfit. In addition, when he is in the company, he is often criticized by the boss's language, which also shows that the kind of monster represented by this kind of twisted character is also the existence of social power. Usually, the gap between them is not easy to cross, and the belonging is the bias without too much understanding.
There are many works now arguing about how worse influence it could lead to. Directors and authors use different forms to express this fact and how it influences. For instance, ‘Green Book’ directed by Peter Farrelly impressed me. Well, in this movie, we can see that at the end Tony's relationship with Don Shirley has changed a lot compared with the beginning of the scene. In the beginning, Tony had to serve as a driver for Don, who is a black pianist. At that time, blacks were not fairly treated, they were not allowed into many restaurants and were discriminated against and even bullied. But as they experienced more and more, the barriers between them began to dissolve, and Tony became as patient with Don as he was with a friend, without his bias against blacks. This movie wants to tell us that people are the same, we are just having different colors of skin hanging on the bone. And all the Du Bois articles show the cruelty of racial discrimination. In especial, in his novel The Comets which in a Fantasy way to show the social fragmentation caused by racial discrimination is terrible. But with our efforts, this kind of racial discrimination can be eliminated.?
