  • Chapter2 First step
\"Wilder, where are you going?\"Elo was so anxious when she saw him going to leave the jungle.

\"Listen, the minstrel in this jungle, I really wish you can stay there though I dislike your boast.\"Larry quickly caught up with Wilder and stared at him, his eyes filled with eager.

Wilder waved his hand and showed a warm smile,\"Farewell, my dear friends. The place where I will go is so dangerous that I cannot carry you.\"

He carried his bow and arrow, looked at the jungle with reluctance, then took his steps, but behind him came the voice of Larry.

\"But... We haven\'t told you one important thing yet. Actually, the Queen has ordered a blockade of this jungle because a wizard has discovered that the source of magic is here.\"Larry\'s voice was very soft and quiet, but it made Wilder stop immediately.

He turned around with eyebrows frowning, \"Why didn\'t you say it earlier? Assuming they exhaust the energy from the source of magic, the elves will disappear forever!\" He asked in an incredulous tone and a bound of fire started burn in his heart.

Larry hold tightly his corner of clothes and lowered his head,"Eh...you said it was the disappearance of the elves...not humans."

How dare they......How dare they do such a thing?!Wilder felt he was almost
crazy, the light in his eyes abruptly extinguisghed.

Long time ago,an old tree grant the magic to humanity. The emergence of wizards has gradually strengthened humanity.

But at the same time, a variety of risks and disaster appeared.

Greed and selfness strayed their way and tempted them to kill other races so that they would attain more interests.

Wilder can\'t restrain the fire in his heart, but the most important thing now is to go to Labis Mountain to find monsters.

For him, getting angry is the last thing he should do. After calming down, he lowered his gaze and didn\'t look at those two people, only said:\"Go back, my ……friend.\"

\"I heard your conversation just before. Why don\'t you carry Larry and me?Listen,I will not bring troubles to you.\"She said resolutely with a determined look.

When facing this child, wilder always feels a little helpless. He sighed and finally said, \"Well, but you must keep up with me. \"

\"That\'s great! \"The two children were extremely excited and began urging him to set off quickly.

They made their way through the dense jungle and arrived at a small hill, where the rocks were covered in black slime and emitted a foul odor.

\"Ugh... such a terrible smell,\" Larry covered his nose, but accidentally stepped on it, \"Oh my shoes, so sticky, I can\'t lift my foot. \"

\"Don\'t worry, I have a solution,\" Lacus said as she took out a magic wand from her bag and bravely chanted a freezing spell at the sticky liquid, \"Fro...da——sta...voda. \"

However, the sticky liquid remained unchanged, and it seemed that the freezing spell did not work. Lacus scratched her head, feeling a bit embarrassed.

At this moment, Wilder smiled and reminded Lacus, \"Miss Lacus, the correct spell should be \'frola-ista-voda\',and when you say it, you need to be more confident. Timid ice will turn into water. \"

Is it because of this? She focused her mind, no longer hesitated, and recited the spell again, and then surprisingly it worked. The liquid under Larry\'s feet turned into ice, he moved his foot, and after the ice shattered, he successfully lifted his foot.

\"Well done!Miss Lacus.\" Wilder praised generously. After speaking, he took out a small knife from his waist and scraped off the frozen mud from Larry\'s shoe soles.

\"Aha!There\'s a hand.A hand is growing out of the mud! \"Lacus\'s companion Erian exclaimed loudly, as he saw a pale hand reaching out from the dark mud behind him, grabbing hold of his right foot.

\"They are undead, we can\'t kill them. Only by purifying the resentment in their hearts can we protect ourselves,\" Wilder said and then he plucked the strings of the harp, playing a tune.

[Listen to the bell of peace and the wail of death,
the dawn may be late but will eventually come.
There is always a beam of light ,
      to redeem the despairing sorrow.
Don\'t shed tears, don\'t be angry.
Allow me to offer you a gardenia,
its fragrance will guide you out of the lost path.
Pure, white, it is your rebirth. ]

After Wilder finished playing, those hands miraculously disappeared. Larry and Elo had listened to Wilder\'s singing many times, so they didn\'t feel anything special.

However, Lacus and Erian exclaimed repeatedly that the singing was beautiful.

Moreover, Lacus felt that whether Wilder was speaking or singing, he gave off a quiet and peaceful feeling. She believed that he must be the best minstrel in the world.

Wilder noticed that Lacus was looking at him, and he pointed at the wand in her hand, \"The undead are gone, now it\'s up to Miss Lacus to handle the muddy path ahead. \"

\"I am very willing, Mr. Wilder. \"Lacus tightened her wand and cast freezing magic multiple times along the way, and everyone successfully crossed this muddy road.

When night fell, they arrived at another jungle, where there was a mysterious fragrance permeating the air.

They also heard the sound of snoring coming from time to time, and many blankets were hanging on the tree branches. It was quite strange.

The cool night breeze made people feel cold. They took blankets and wrapped them around themselves, sitting around the campfire. Unable to resist, Lacus whispered:\"Mr. Wilder, what exactly were the undead we saw during the day? \"

\"More precisely, they are some individuals who, after death, carry resentment and are unable to ascend to heaven, but their nature is kind enough not to be sent to hell.\" Wilder listened to the sound of burning wood and calmly recounted.

\"Um... I suppose everyone here is human, right?\" Lacus asked uncertainly.

Surprisingly, both Larry and Elo objected at the same time: \"We are not humans, we are goblins. But Wilder should be. \"

\"Although we are goblins, humans are important to us because the goblin elders said that goblins and humans formed an alliance in the last negotiation. \"Larry continued.

\"That sounds cool! So what can you goblins do?\" Erian immediately approached with curiosity, without feeling any fear.

\"What else can we do? Just like you, we eat, sleep, and study.\"After saying that, Larry wrapped himself tightly in a blanket and lay down on the grass, seemingly ready to sleep.

\"So it\'s actually that boring? \"Erian felt a bit disappointed after listening.

Larry pondered for a moment and said:\" if we were to point out something different, it would be that we eat, sleep, and study underground. \"

\"Wow! It\'s so interesting! \"Erian excitedly rushed over and begged Larry to tell more about goblins.

Lacus saw Larry and Erian become so close so quickly, showing a gentle smile, then turned to Wilder and continued to ask: \"Why are there so many undead on that hill? \"

When asked this question, Wilder\'s expression became somewhat solemn. \"They all seem to be wizards, attracted by the magical aura released by the ancient tree two months ago. Along with them, a group of... knights were also drawn here. They are the ones who came to capture you. \"

\"Ah? What happened afterwards? \"Lacus was already shocked when she heard this.

\"Later on... the ancient tree knew that someone wanted to absorb its power, so it temporarily took away all the wizard\'s magic, and the knights used their intrusion into the forbidden forest as a reason to kill them all. \"

\"This is too hypocritical! Even fellow comrades can be killed for the sake of magic.\" Lacus couldn\'t help but feel angry after hearing this, because she was captured precisely for being able to use magic.

\"Miss Lacus, it\'s time to rest now. Anyway, they couldn\'t get close to the ancient tree in the end and went back angrily.\" Wilder said with a smile, then urged her to go to sleep quickly.

      \"Goodnight, Mr. Wilder. \"

      \"Goodnight.May you have a good dream. \"

After a while, everyone fell asleep. At this moment, a furry thing emerged from the bushes, blew a bubble, and floated up. Its two long ears drooped down, looking somewhat adorable.

\"It\'s time to eat!\" It excitedly spins around everyone.
