2、Robinson Crusoe ...

  • The book report of Robinson Crusoe
The main character of this book is Robinson. Robinson, who was born in a middle-class family, loved sailing and adventure. Despite his father\'s objections, he began his seafaring life. Unfortunately, he was shipwrecked on his fourth voyage. He was stranded alone on a desert island. But he didn\'t give up and tried to survive on the island. He used the few surviving resources around him to build houses, grow food, and raise goats. And on the twenty-fourth year he lived in the island, he saved a slave he named “Friday”. Then one day, Robinson and Friday helped a captain of the ship and left the island in his boat.
Robinson Crusoe was written by Daniel Defoe and published in 1719. The novel was inspired by a true story of that time. In September 1704, a Scottish sailor named Alexander Selkirk had a quarrel with his captain and was abandoned by the captain in the Atlantic Ocean. After four years and four months on a desert island, he was rescued by Captain Woods Rogers. Based on the legend of Selkirk, Defoe devoted his years of maritime experience and experience to the characters, and made full use of his rich imagination for literary processing, so that \"Robinson\" not only became a hero in the minds of the middle and small bourgeoisie at that time, but also became the first idealized emerging capitalist in Western literature.
Though Robinson has a few faults such as the greed for money, there are also a lot of merits. Suddenly encountered a shipwreck to a desert island, Robinson did not give up. He did everything he could to survive on this island. Of course, what impresses me most is the friendship between Robinson and Friday. Although they have great cultural and racial differences, they still live together and inclusive each other. When I read this book in junior high school, I only liked the part that Robinson survived on the island, because it was very interesting, but I did not fully understand the meaning behind it. Now reading this book again, I realized Robinson\'s quality of never giving up. I think, this is his most worthy of my learning excellent quality. In our study and life, no matter how great the difficulties we meet, we should never give up. On the other hand, Robinson is persistent. Although he encountered danger, but he persisted in pursuing his dream. We also should learn from Robinson\'s brave pursuit of dream.
Never give up in the face of difficulties, bravely pursue dreams, and accept different cultures with an open and inclusive mind, which is what I have learned from this book.
