4、Chapter 3: Gu Xiang

　　Taking without repaying is called taking, but when there's a return, it's called borrowing. Though she accepted others' offerings, who's to say she wouldn't reciprocate?

　　Not seeking advantages doesn't mean rejecting gifts from others or acting high and mighty, insisting on splitting bills evenly.

　　不贪图便宜不代表不收人礼物，一定要表现自己多清高，事事AA制。

　　With such an approach to life, you'll never know if those around you are true friends or pretenders.

　　若是这样的为人处世，你永远不知道你身边的那些所谓的朋友究竟是人还是鬼。

　　Growing up in a family environment that molded her values, Gu Xiang developed her cunning early on. However, she consistently upholds her choices and principles, refusing to resort to any means to achieve success and determined not to become driven by personal gain and desires.

　　顾湘出生的家庭环境，又被自己的父母从小言传身教，所以她自小就有自己的小心机。

　　她不是什么白莲花，她也不想演什么白莲花人设演。她有些属于自己人性的弱点，况且她的目标并不是做一个好人，只求做一个无愧于心，对得起自己，也对得起别人的人。

　　A few days later, the person who had demanded all the gifts and money back unexpectedly came to apologize to Gu Xiang. He admitted to having a hot temper, speaking without thinking, and not considering his words carefully. He even wanted to return the gifts and give them to her again.

　　几天过后，这位要回所有礼物和金钱的人居然又跑到顾湘面前来道歉，说是自己性子急，有口无心，说话没有经过大脑，又把那些礼物拿来再送给她了。

　　How laughable!

　　真是可笑！

　　Gu Xiang simply walked past him without a glance. She believed there were plenty of people worth befriending in this world, and she would never waste a minute on those who didn't deserve her time.

　　顾湘直接绕道而去，不留给对方一个眼神。

　　在这个世界上，她相信有很多值得自己结交的人，所以她绝不会浪费一分钟时间在那些不值得的人身上。
