Violet is blue, Gilbert is green, They are meant to be together, ‘cause of destiny! Yet destiny is twisted so shall the road be rough. For these two to be together a miracle is thou need. Yet during the harsh time of war, is there such a thing? Thus, destiny derives the path from the road of happiness. Instead, it rides slowly towards the rocky end of despair. ------------------------------------
A child of unknown origin, A weapon trained to fight, This was who Violet was, Until she met her light.
Unafraid, Gilbert taught her human ways. A human, not an object, is what she then became. Fate is twisted: Just as life was turning well, A battle struck, and all fell. Bang! Rumble! Shots and explosions, Masking the slow drip of blood from their wounds. “Go,” he said, too weak to move. “No!” “I shall never leave without you.” Smiling, He delivered his final words: “live on, for I love you truly from my heart.” Bewildered, she obeys, being a model soldier. Running out, only to fall just before the door.
Years pass as the war ends, Time has healed her wounds. She continues to wait everyday Till the violets have bloomed.
Yet, She receives no word. No command. Nothing.
“Why?” Has he abandoned me? What is the meaning of his words? She sets upon a journey, To find the answers, to learn the ways of mankind. Happiness Is spread from her, And to her, as she realizes her feelings Happiness Is being with him Working, spending time, and anything. And she realizes,
She loves him too
At First sight When she saw his beautiful, green eyes She fell Into the deep abyss of love Blissful joy She now understands his words Love’s meaning is now clear
Yet joy is such a fickle friend, One who leaves so suddenly, A casual conversation Changed everything utterly.
“Would…”
A word suggesting something else “He would have been very happy.” A dreadful feeling led her stomach to clench. With surprise, his relative told her the news “didn’t you know? Gilbert has passed away.”
Crack Into tatters her heart shatters What? My leader, my lover, my... everything. He’s dead? Impossible. He is alive; this is all a lie. How could he abandon me?
Dashing around the city, Asking all she knew, Hoping for a confirmation That the news is untrue.
Slowing down, Exhausting all her resources No hope remains. A slow descend into despair, Aimlessly wandering, no more meaning in her life. All is done for.
A green glint lures her towards her fate. A lake shimmering in the sunlight, tinted green just like his eyes. Entranced, she slowly walks into the lake, step by step clothes getting soaked until she is completely submerged. No mark left behind at all; she is gone.
Oblivious to the lack of air, she sighs and rests in peace. Finally, she is united with her lover. Together, once again.
