For within the hollow crown
这顶空洞的王冠之内\ that rounds the mortal temples of a king
是死神的宫廷\ keeps Death his court.
And there the antic sits,
揶揄他的尊严 姗笑他的荣华\ scoffing his state and grinning at his pomp
让他残喘片刻 粉墨登场\ allowing him a breath, a little scene,
受尽众人的敬畏 手握生杀大权\ be feared and kill with looks
让他日益妄自尊大\ infusing him with self and vain conceit,
仿佛这包裹着我们生命皮囊\ as if this flesh, which walls about our life,
And, humoured thus,
却不知末日已经来临\ comes at the last
小如针尖即可刺破他的壁垒\ and, with a little pin, bores through his castle wall and,
Farewell, King!
Cover your heads.
And mock not flesh and blood with solemn reverence.
Throw away respect, tradition, form and ceremonious duty
因为你们一向错看了我\ for you have but mistook me all this while.
I live with bread, like you.
Feel want.
Taste grief.
Need friends.
Subjected thus, how can you say to me I am a king?
