1、My Garter，My Hounour

　　Britons consider Order of the Garter as the top honour they could ever get. Membership of the order is limited to the Sovereign, the Prince of Wales, and no more than twenty-four members, or Companions-it seems a little bit difficult for me get one blue ribbon(a blue ribbon is the symbol of the Garter), right I do not care. I’ve got my own Garter, my own honour.
　　“Catherine! Miss is waiting for you outside.” shouted Amy. I rose from my seat like the herald angel of God to meet my History teacher. I nicknamed the lady “Miss”. It was Sept.11 last year-I thought there must be something wrong with my project about HM Queen Victoria. Miss greeted me warmly as usual-but there was a difference. She said nothing about the gracious queen. “Well, Catherine-I’m here to thank you for your Teachers’ Day greeting card. Yesterday I was so busy that I didn’t check it, while I found it delicate when I opened your envelope later! You made it yourself! And I’ve never seen so beautiful a card! I was moved deeply! This is the best gift I’ve ever received-how much time did you spend on it Thank you so much, Cathy!” Miss smiled.
　　The smile made me think of Blessed Virgin Mary. She wanted to know how much time I had spent on it! I’ve made hundreds of cards to hundreds of beloved persons. Miss was the only one who specially paid me a visit just to thank me for my work. I designed her card in a humble mood and chose every colour carefully. I never dreamed of being thanked in so formal a way. I remembered how nervous and excited I was when I handed the card to Miss. I was a noddy who scarcely understood the meaning of “moving”, but Miss’ appearance and such a sweet smile graced my day indeed. Yes-your smile was like my Garter and it was more than a Garter. Miss, if you’re reading this story by chance, I hope that you could realize how much I care about my Garter.
