　　Auspices: patronage；支柱，支持。
　　Consecrated：基督教：使圣化，使变体，或就圣职等；献身于宗教事业的人；
　　Resurgence: rebirth, revival, recovery；重生的。
　　Sedition: incitement to rebellion, agitation, troublemaking
　　Prudery: excessive modesty
　　Purge: to cleanse；洗净
　　Blasphemy: sacrilege, profanity
　　Incendiaries: Someone who burns things
　　Intimations: hints, allusions, suggestions；暗示，提示
　　Vigilante: someone who takes law into their own hands.

　　我准备考SAT的时候，我的一个老师对我说了些话，我觉得很受用。大家学习单词的时候应该用英文去学，去查，去记。这样才能掌握这个词最原始，纯粹的意思。翻译过了就等于一锅加了水重煮的汤，没了味道。
