Dear Miss Williams,
About the questions that you’ve asked, forgive me, I can’t answer all of them either. Some questions are what we are trying to find an answer for, some, is just too vacant for now.
Our world, what is it made of? This question was answered not long ago by Mr. Newton. Our world is made up of matter. Inside, there are elements. This is what we can understand, for now.
If the Earth has a gravitational force then what about the Sun? This question, forgive me, is one of the questions I cannot answer. However, personally, I think it does. Still not very long ago, Mr. Copernicus convinced the science world that the Earth goes around the Sun, I am affraid it is the truth. If he is right, the Sun, then the likelihood of the Sun having a gravitational pull on the Earth will be very high.
If the Sun does have a gravitational force, how will that in turn effect the Earth? As we just talked about about, if the Sun does not have a gravitational force holding the Earth, then the Earth will likely to have orbiting another star, not the Sun.
How many elements do we have? This is a good question, a few years back then, i found an “inflammable air”, maybe that is one of the elements. Recently, a Mr. Joseph Priestley found a lot more veriety of airs, i consider that a huge improvement. I also know a friend, he can answer it to you clearer than i can. For now, we only know, the elements I mean, are not a big number. I do, we do believe, that there are plenty of new elements waiting for us to discover.
As for the function of those elements? I’m affraid this is out of my study area. Maybe, burning is one of the functions.
Dear Miss Williams, I admire your curiosity, but please do forgive me for this strange question that I am about to ask you. Did you come up with all the questions?
Truthfully,
Henry Cavendish
--------------------------------------
Dear Mr. Cavendish,
The answer to your question is: yes, Mr. Cavendish, I did come up with all those questions. I want to know everything that I asked you about, but I do not know any way to actually answer them. If, by any chance, possible, can I be your student, and let myself to unveal what I asked? If you want to test me, and see if I am suitable to be your student, you are more than welcome, I will try my best. To say the truth, about those questions, I actually have some ideas, I just need an environment to let me explore the answers. Hopefully, I may have your help.
PS, You can absolutely call me Eliza, Miss Williams is such a waste of paper, don’t you think?
Sincerely,
Eliza Williams
-------------------------------
Dear Eliza,
Humour is one of the noble characteristics of mankind, isn’t it?
About to have you as my student, I think, you are definitely capable of being my student. Only, I hear, from William, that you are only a little girl. Can you really do experiments? The way you speak gives me no clues about how old are you, you must be a genius. Your achievements may exceed Mr. Newton, but, you are just a child. Maybe, you would like to enjoy your childhood and then join our society? When you do join, I’d be glad to help.
Sincerely,
Henry Cavendish
---------------------------
Dear Mr. Cavendish,
I do not want to waste my time anymore, and my whole life will be surrounded by science, no regrets. I honestly hope that you can consider what I said. Of course, as you said, I am only a child. My guardian is not in London, I can hear from him approximately two months after now, if I can leave my boarding school right now, and focus on studying with you. But before that, maybe it is best we meet up and talk, right?
Thankfully,
Eliza Williams
-------------------------
Dear Eliza,
You are precisely right, we could definitely meet, it is not a very good to always annoy William for our communication, isn’t it? Although, I am sure that he is glad to see you. Maybe next week Tuesday?
Sincerely,
Henry Cavendish
------------------------
Dear Mr. Cavendish
Definitely, I assure you that Mr. William is very annoyed by now. Next week Tuesday sounds good, I would glad to have this pleasure in meeting you.
Sincerely,
Eliza Williams
--------------------------
Dear Eliza,
Then it is settled. Pleasure is all mine. Please don’t forget to look at William’s face for me.
Sincerely,
Henry Cavendish
